Designing Fayzebuilt
This is a guest post by John Shukin of Shape Design, exploring Fayzebuilt’s identity design process.
Fayzebuilt’s brand identity, inspired by their name, features interlocking semi-circles that represent the different “fayzes” of construction coming together as a unified whole. It’s a bold, creative reflection of their approach: transforming ideas into beautifully crafted spaces, one step at a time.
From the very first meeting with Graeme, it was clear that Fayzebuilt approached building in a way that satisfied their clients, while also fulfilling an inner drive they had to build the best possible house, each and every time. These guys were young and passionate and hungry for construction; for them, it wasn’t a trade as much as it was an artform. During the website construction, one of the biggest tasks was to pinpoint what set Fayze apart. The site needed messaging that reflected their passion, and that didn’t follow the tropes that so many other construction businesses unwittingly fall into.
For me, what kept standing out was how Graeme didn’t take any shortcuts. In fact, the anecdotes he’d share revealed how Fayzebuilt would go to any length to make their clients happy, the build successful, and the Fayze team proud of their work. Graeme is detail oriented, all the way from his client interactions, to each line item in the budget, to managing relationships with the best sub-trades for each build. The result is a space that feels like it was always bound to happen, just the way it did.
From imagery to copywriting to layout, I wanted the user to understand that Fayzebuilt approaches each project with the mindset that doing all the small things well leads to a successful project. Here are a couple of the lines that encapsulate the Fayzebuilt mentality:
“Every detail is intentional, inevitable.”
“Great homes grow from many small pieces.”
“Fine custom homes. One step at a time.”
“Why buy a house when you can build a home.”
The smallest details make the finest homes.
